The library would like to thank the FRIENDS of the East Moline Public Library group for generously purchasing passes to the Niabi Zoo, Putnam Museum, and the Figge Art Museum! These will be free for East Moline Library patrons to check out for one week. All check outs will receive passes for four people or a family into the venue for free.
These passes are for EAST MOLINE LIBRARY CARDHOLDERS ONLY! There will be no holds allowed, and they will be first come, first serve. The fine on these cards will be $1.00 a piece for each card checked out.
If you would like to find out more about these passes, please contact Tami at (309) 755-9614.
RiverShare Libraries Consortium Changes
Effective July 1, 2016, public libraries in the Illinois Quad Cities will no longer be part of the current RiverShare Libraries consortium. They will be joining the PrairieCat consortium.
What does this mean for East Moline Public Library cardholders?
- Starting on April 15, 2016, you will only be able to place holds on items owned by an Illinois member library.
- After May 15, 2016, East Moline Library cardholders will not be able to use their card to checkout materials at any of the Iowa Quad Cities Libraries.
- After July 1, 2016, any items you have checked out that belong to an Illinois Quad Cities library must be returned to an Illinois library.
We are continuing to examine if it will be possible to offer library users the ability to checkout at the Iowa libraries, and vice versa, after July 1, 2016. Please do not hesitate to ask library staff if you have any questions regarding these changes.
The Illinois member libraries that are part of the PrairieCat consortium are (within a 60 mile radius): Andalusia Township Library, Colona Public Library, Cordova District Library, East Moline Public Library, Erie Public Library District, Henry C. Adams Memorial Library Prophetstown, Moline Public Library, Princeton Public Library, River Valley District Library, Robert R. Jones Public Library District Coal Valley, Rock Island Public Libraries, Sherrard Public Library, Silvis Public Library and Western District Library Orion.
With the May 17th changeover to the PrairieCat catalog, your library card will be accepted at all PrairieCat locations. Illinois cardholders will have access to more than 5 million items at 135 library locations. Illinois materials may still be returned at any Illinois library location.
